TAPS - GEOCACHE #GC139NV

DAYLIGHT ONLY
Bring a pen/pencil and should you decide to roam, please be respectful.
DAYLIGHT ONLY

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep, peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor,
God keep.
On the land or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night, Must thou go,
When the day, And the night
Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise, For our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.

I APPOLOGISE IN ADVANCE for the fact there are no images posted here or on the site. my camera didnt take ANY shots after 9am this day and i had a LOT of images i took of all kinds of things as we caches at 4 seperate places. NONE of the images i took came out.

CAPTURE THE FLAG III RETURNS...YET AGAIN - GEOCACHE #GCJPRM

I APPOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE fot the lack of images, my camera decided to act up and we didnt realize it till it was too late, all the images for the day were lost and i had some awsome shots of various slies and monuments and cahce finds. none of them are on the SD card for retreival.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Capture the Flag III Returns...Yet Again! #GCJPRM

No. 3 in the Capture the Flag contest. Who from Tulsa will retrieve "the flag" and return it to Tulsa County?

Yes, CTF III has returned for the THIRD time! I originally placed this cache in a really neat (but I'm sorry to say, unaccessable, place). Read the logs I wrote below if you want a good laugh! Like to have never got the cache back into my own hands! Sorry to all of you cachers who visited the site only to find it behind locked doors.

Then there was a fire in the area of the second cache which destroyed the container. I recently replaced the entire cache...just not with "flag items." Hopefully, the third time will be successful!

Written at the time of the second placement: No problems like that now. Hope you enjoy... HA!!!

CIRCLE K P&G - GEOCACHE # GC123D7 - Found

i want to apologise in advance for the lack of images, my camera wasnt working corectly during this entire days adventures worth of GEOCACHING, none of the images i took for the 4 caches we located came out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an easy park and grab. Nothing complicated.

This is our first cache hide. There is no theme to it, just a log book inside, so bring your own writing utensil. Have fun!

Additional Hints:
NOT the dumpster. Look down under.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
this was a cache we did right after a heavy rainfall. GPD had "Cra" a bit all over the paved area and he had even checked the area where "Dan" eventually located the cache at, and missed it completly.

i myself, had a stong suspicion it was in 1 of 4 places, the right one being one of the 4 id have chosen myself.

this was a really light and easy, park and grap cache find.
the kind i like the best! lol

JUST ANOTHER DAY... - GEOCAHCE #GCGWDX- Found

i apologize in advance for the lack of images in this blog. my camera was messed up during each of the 4 caches we did today and NONE of the images i took for the 4 finds came out.

Just Another DayĆ¢€¦
Oklahoma Fallen & Living Firefighters Memorial
GEOCACHE #GCGWDX

This is a special memorial that really deserves to have attention drawn to it. It is located at the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum in OKC and honors all Oklahoman firefighters, especially those who have given the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Their names are inscribed in granite on the Wall of Valor. Towering above the Wall is the eye-catching sculpture of two firefighters, titled 'Just Another Day,' by artist Shahla Rahimi Reynolds of OKC.

The memorial is open to the public (at no cost) between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.

If you are interested in seeing displays about firefighting, you should visit the nearby Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum, which is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Sundays. (It is closed on all major holidays.) There is a $4 admission charge for the museum ($3 for seniors, $2 for children ages 6-12).

The above coordinates will lead you to the memorial itself. To find the hidden cache, you will need to find the answers to the following questions, and then replace the letters (in the coordinates for the hidden cache) with the correct numbers.

A) the number of birds depicted on the Wall of Valor
B) the number of black granite panels on the Wall of Valor which do NOT have engraved inscriptions
C) the date inscribed on the flame sculpture (near its base): Feb. ____ 2000
D) the number of circular windows at the memorial

These are the coordinates for the hidden cache:
35 degrees 31.D7B
97 degrees 27.BAC

The cache container is a camouflaged Altoids tin (standard size). With the logbook inside, there is very little space for other items, so if you choose to leave something, please be sure the container closes tightly, without strain. There is no pen or pencil, so you will need to bring your own, if you wish to sign the logbook. Besides the logbook, the cache's original contents included three 2001 Heroes USA semi-postal stamps and three 2001 New York quarters. There is a picnic table nearby, where you can log your find. Unfortunately, there are also wasps in the vicinity, so keep an eye out for them!

The first half of this cache is handicap-accessible, but the second half is not. If you are only able to log the first half of the cache, just e-mail the answers to the four questions above, plus complete this quotation, found on the Wall of Valor:
Give them a crown of beauty ______________ ______ ____________ .

Additional Hints
Magnetized. Rust-colored. Knee-high. East side.
________________________________________________________

this had the GPS unit locate it right on target, and it took us several passes before "Cra" decided to dig a bit deeper than we had, and discovered it.
i ("Mic") had even looked right at it and never noticed it!!!

once we found it we signed the log.

my son "Dan" loved the staues and the "old-timey" reminants that sit on the grounds to look over and wonder about.

i hads taken some really awsome shots of the stormy skies and the sun shining thru the clouds at this place...

ROUND TIN - GEOCACHE #GCZDCV

Nice wooded walking trail at the south end of the Joe B. Barnes park system. Parking available at the south trail head. You are looking for a 5" round metal tin that has been painted flat black with camo duct tape over the top and sides. Contains several small trade items in a ziploc bag.

NOTE: This area experiences heavy traffic after dark during the later part of November and through December, since the walking trail area parallels the road that leads into the annual Midwest City Holiday Lights Spectacular exhibit.

Additional Hints
Best to approach from the north off the path.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This had to be one of the funnest ones we were ver on, not for the cache itself but for a running storyline within this geocachers society here in oklahoma...

it has something to do with a guy named:DARKMOON and his fight agaisnt the evil army of SQUIRRLS which are all enlisted by COMMANDER SQUIRRL...

as you read youll see why this was so entertaining as well as the images i captured to add to the "feel" for this partivular story..lol

this was a cache off a main trail in a park.
GPS took us directly to the cache.
"Cra" had actully seen it but disregarded it as nothing and i went to see for myself and saw it as a different color...he said from the angle he was at it was all black, i myself, saw CAMO as described in the post as the identifying factor to its look.

took inventory and contenets held (at time of find):
*FLAG key chain "Land of The Free"
*blue poker chip
*KEY ID COVERS -10green, 1)purple
*GOLD BEADS
*SILVER CHAIN
*COMPASS
*LOGBOOK
*PENCIL

we took nothing
left nothing but did sigh the logbook

IMAGES and some text about what we did and saw on the way:

we encounterd many a creature as we made our way thru the path to the cache.
this was a butterfly (i called it a moth) just sitting on the grass, never moved when we passed it:

AIM HIGH - GEOCACHE #GCF2E2

Very easy terrain. Coordinates are for parking.

This is a little bit of military history, for those who are interested. Be sure to visit during daylight hours only, please! In order to recieve credit for finding this one, either:

1. Post a picture of your GPS in front of your favorite item in the park, or:
2. E-mail us with the answers to these questions:
a. What squadron does the B-29 belong to?
b. What is the name of the B-52
c. What is the name of the F-105D? (It's painted on.)

If you post a picture, please ensure that the answers to these questions are not compromised! Please do not post the answers to the page, even if encoded. Note: the answers to the questions may or may not be available due to painting and refurbishing. If not, please provide some alternate means of proving you visited the cache site.

GEOCACHERS PARADISE - DEL CITY: GEOCACHE # GCYNH0 - Found

GEOCACHERS PARADISE - DEL CITY:

GCYNH0

i love this hobby! its been a LOOOONG time since i was as enthusiastic about a hobby as i am about this one.

i do the research at home on the pc, and print up the profile for each cache, including some of the other cachers comments (to help with the quest) and then calculate how to convince "Cra" to go and hunt that one (2, 5, or more) down..lol

i had just rememberd that tonight was a FREE SONIC ROOTBEER FLOAT giveaway between 8pm-and midnight (while supplies lasted) and we had just finished eating some thrown-together home made vegetable soup, when i had the "itch" to go grab a quick and easy cache.

had the papers ready, loaded the cordinantes intot he GPS unit, and we went and got our rootbeer float.

headed to where we assumed the cordinates pointed, and had relativly little difficulty finding the cache.
ya have to appreciate these park & grabs!! these SHOULD be done on the hottest of days because they are so darned easy to accomplish in getting.

i simply love them because they require virtually NO exercize!! lol
but thats cheating, and i really DO like all the others...they just tax me because im so overweight.

this was a simple find. and a fun one too.

this find was hidden in a small keybox with an official GEOCACHERS sticker on the cover.
Photo

heres "Cra"ig with the cache in his hand:

and me-"Mic"helle with the cache in my hand:

"Dan"iel was still away at scout camp when we discovered this one.

were trying to save the fun ones to do when hes here to go along.

ILLUMINATED SUPPORT - GEOCACHE # GCZ0FC - Found

this was a cache "cra" thought he understood from the title alone...he was absolutley right on it!

a PARK & GRAB (and i mean you can PARK right there at the cache & GRAB it) it was very fun and interesting to find.

these kinds of caches i think i like the best, no fuss, no muss and i can claim the prize without breaking a sweat..lol
but then theres no REAL adventure in the conquest...and i kinda like HUNTING and ROOTING for the cache when we actually have to HIKE a bit to get to it.

on the hunt for the cache:
